Battery Maintainance
Good electrical contacts between the batteries and the camera are lifeline of your camera. For this purpose all electrical contacts in the camera and ends of the batteries must be cleaned properly. Batteries may have a full charge, but will be viewed by the camera as low if electrical contacts are not really good. While cleaning take care that excessive pressure during such cleaning could bend or distort camera and camera electrical contacts. Please also note that Isopropyl alcohol (mentioned below) and its fumes are extremely poisonous to people and pets and is highly inflammable.
To clean negative ends of all batteries take a cotton swab slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Do not allow alcohol to drip or run inside the camera as this could result in camera damage. Remove any alcohol residue from battery with a clean cotton swab
To clean positive ends of batteries and camera electrical contacts use the damp cotton swab. Dry with a clean cotton swab.
When all contacts are completely dry clean battery ends and camera contacts with a clean white pencil eraser. Clean eraser often by rubbing on clean paper/cloth.
Clean the battery and camera contacts with alcohol again as described above. Remember to dry with a clean cotton swab then allow to air dry for about three to five minutes.
Apply a very small dot of dielectric grease (available in auto parts store or a hardware store) to the negative side of each battery. Then apply it to positive ends of batteries and camera contacts. Using a single side of cotton swab(s), rub off excess grease from the base of all batteries and camera contacts and allow them to dry for about five minutes before using the batteries.
